 The whimsically named Steamers Golf and Country
Club Society was formed in 2004 to cater to the growing number of keen golfers patonising Steamers.
Afiliated
to the Hong Kong Golf Assciation, the society organises
a monthly tournament for its members at nearby Kau
Sai Chau public golf course, as well as occasional
visits to other courses in the region and an annual
tour outside of Hong Kong to one of Asia¹s many
golfing hot-spots.
Steamers is extemely golfer-friendly
and is a great meeting place for anyone setting out
for a day on one of Kau Sai Chau¹s two (soon
to be three) courses. Start the day with a famous
Steamers breakfast before taking a short walk to
the Sai Kung ferry terminal for the 10 minute trip
to Kau Sai Chau.
The society¹s monthly outings are a great social occasion and Steamers is
always packed afterwards with golfers of all ages and abilities, from professional
to hacker, analysing the day¹s perfomances.
